About Us

Tēnā koutou katoa!

Wow! Where to start?

I am proud mama to six beautiful tamariki (children) aged between 13 and three, all with their own special skills and quirky traits. In between whānau life and relief teaching, I am working on building a brand that is an extension of who I am. I would describe myself as a messy creative with a massive imagination that wants to do and try everything! I naturally have a holistic way of viewing and reading the world and want to share this perspective as part of my business venture.

I am a teacher by trade and for years I have loved teaching our pūrakau (indigenous stories) in the classroom. Pūrakau (stories) have always fascinated me. They speak to my imagination and wairua (spirit) like no other- I can still remember sitting in class when I was eight or nine glaring out through the window at the sun as it radiated in the sky. I used to squint my eyes in a daydream at Tama-nui-Te-ra (sun) and swear black and blue I could see the ropes of Maui lassoed around him!

In Dec 2018 my life slowed right down after I experienced a community cardiac arrest while sleeping. I am blessed and lucky my partner Hemi found me when he did- however at the time I was in complete shock and convinced myself nothing was wrong with me. Fast forward to June 2020 it happened again, a community cardiac arrest while I slept. Once again, Hemi was there to literally pull me out of ‘Te Po’ (the darkness) and back into ‘Te Ao MARAMA’ (the light/world of living)-it was the scariest thing I have ever experienced. I am so thankful he was there, again-thus began my REAL healing journey. This journey is beautiful and ongoing and I have had to face many hard truths and past hurts to get to where I am now. The fire within me not only wants to empower my own babies but I believe I can use this platform to inspire people to empower and believe in themselves.
